MLPA

Ensuring a healthy and successful pregnancy

What is MLPA

MLPA stands for Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification. It is a molecular technique used in molecular biology to detect DNA copy number variations (CNVs), such as deletions and duplications of specific regions of the genome.

MLPA is commonly used in clinical diagnostics to detect CNVs associated with genetic disorders, such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, Prader-Willi syndrome, and Angelman syndrome.
